Gotham Hall, Manhattan’s finest event center, wanted to improve the acoustics in their Great Hall, a beautiful classically-designed oval-shaped space 110 feet long and 7 stories high. In mid-2011, they contacted Acoustic Geometry for a solution. This awe-inspiring New York City landmark was formerly the Greenwich Savings Bank building, and is on the National Register of Historic Places, so it could not be structurally altered.
Within a few months, 22 custom-built stand-alone Curve Diffusers were installed, to unanimous acclaim. The Diffusors range from seven feet to twelve feet tall and contain a large amount of recycled-cotton absorbent material behind the Diffusor front surfaces. The fabric-covered units blend into the curved sandstone walls of the main room, and have received rave reviews from a wide range of people – sound mixers, wedding guests, and one happy venue manager.
