We just finished shooting & editing an interestingly-complicated three-and-a-half minute video (involving Nerf Disc guns, 1130 feet of florescent green string, and Moiré patterns) called “How Sound Works (In Rooms)”, and I think it illustrates just why we do videos. To show analogies of how sound behaves in an enclosed space is a lot easier using the visual tools available in the video format – the concepts are way more easily understood in pixels than from all the yakking we could do. And have done, actually…
Part of the Acoustic Geometry gig is educational, which sounds dry and academic. But sound is such a powerful-yet-misunderstood medium that we find it exciting to relate the story of “how sound works (in rooms)” to people who want and/or need to know. Not that we have ALL the answers, but we do have a lot of them. Check out the vid for yourself below or on the Acoustic Geometry YouTube Channel, and let us know how we did. And thanks for watching!
